About the University Examination Centre (UEC), UAS, Raichur:

Examination is a means to assess the knowledge acquired over the entire duration of study by the students which provides a feed back to the teachers to understand the status of knowledge of the students so as to incorporate newer tools in their teaching methodology. In
the recent past rapid strides in agriculture education has been witnessed in terms of the number, quality of the students admitted and the range of the courses offered which necessitates tests to assess the students real skills, talents and knowledge acquired, thus examination system has been an important yardstick to test the knowledge and skill of the students. The traditional system of education in state Agricultural Universities was in the form of a Trimester system of education for both UG and PG programmes which later on has been switched on to semester system from the Year 1994-95 with internal evaluation. Further reforms in Agriculture Education resulted in introduction of external examination component in the undergraduate programme during the Year 1999-2000. In the constituent colleges external examination were conducted and evaluated separately. To have uniformity among the external examination University Examination Centre (UEC), UAS, Raichur, was established during the academic year 2014-15. The University Examination Centre along with the external examination cell at the respective colleges coordinates in conducting the external examination simultaneously at the scheduled date and time. University Examination Centre carries out the centralised evaluation of answer scripts, the internal and external examination marks shall be compiled at UEC and announces the results of the respective degree and courses separately. Queries regarding re-totalling of marks, providing photocopies of evaluated answer booklets and re-evaluation of answer booklets shall be attended as per university rules. The supplementary examinations shall be conducted along with the final external examinations as and when the courses are offered.
Development:
1. Installation of CC TV at the Examination Halls to prevent malpractice and maintain strict discipline among the students, invigilators and supporting staff and conduct the examination on time at all the constituent colleges.
2. Two fully furnished central evaluation halls were developed for carrying out the evaluation work simultaneously for the two-degree programmes.
3. Installation of CC TV in the evaluation halls to maintain secrecy in the evaluation work.
